The Heritage Brook Trout Reel is somewhat unique among raised pillar reels. Cosmetically inspired by the much revered Philbrook - Payne mottled reels, it is a departure from the typical heritage raised pillar reel, which were cute, but limited in function.

The bronze raised pillar frame makes it possible to make a classic style reel that has considerable capacity in a small package. Advantage is taken of the powerful, compact Westminster mechanism to make relatively large diameter, narrow frame reels like the 274L and 305 for faster line retrieve and weight reduction. The model 306 is the slimest six weight reel that I produce. These reels are relatively light weight - about the same weight as the Westminster Reels and balance lighter cane dry fly rods.

Add to this the suburb adjustble tension pawl mechnaism of the Westminster series reels, this is a great "package" with exceptional cosmetics that shouts style as well as wonderful functionality. This is a time consuming reel to make and thus maybe classed as a reel for the well seasoned, serious angler who wants exceptional function, feel, and appearance.
